Rabbit food? Hell no!
On the theme of weight loss and diet management, today's post is a simple one. I was going to update you all on how my racing is going but I'm in a bit of a grump over that at the moment so really don't feel like chatting about it. Not that it's going all that badly but I'm struggling a little with confidence and I'd much rather exude excitement and inspiration to you all than dangle a big grey cloud of self deprecation over you!
Some people have asked what I consume daily to lose the weight I have - well handily now my coach and I are tracking calories though myfitnesspal, as it's getting very hard to inch down to that final goal of 60kg. Strikingly I have found a lot of people have negatively questioned my weight loss, whether or not this comes down to pure disbelief or even jealousy I do not know but I would like to ensure you that I have and always will be the proud owner of an incredibly healthy appetite.
So as a special treat for anyone that's interested enough, and to prove those fuckers wrong, I've made my food diary public, so those of you that are wondering what to eat/what not to eat, need a little helping hand to figure out what to buy at the supermarket this week, or those of you that have been critical of my methods (i.e. you can see I'm not starving myself) can see.
My main issue with diet at the moment is I have been lacking vegetables, I've been eating really well but have neglected the green - possibly due to the fact I have had very little spare time. So this month I will be focusing on a leaner evening diet, containing more vegetables and proteins than carbohydrate and fats (which is what I have been consuming a lot of!)
My daily goal is just over 1,700 calories - this is to ensure I lose a little bit of weight but do not damage myself in the process. Please note this is being carefully monitored, this is simply a guideline tool to make sure I'm eating right - not a weapon to turn myself in to a rake. Remember this, obsession can be used as a healthy means to reach happy targets but while obsession exists it always presents a risk. If you feel you might be slipping in to a regime that's looking a bit sinister seek a friendly ear, get help, don't let it control you. That counts for both directions, be it eating to little or too much, the fact that there's "too" anything should signal some warning bells!
Basically my ethos has and always will be - do not deprive yourself of anything, because if you put everything in balance - you too will balance out nicely.
(please excuse my current addiction to peanut butter and jam)
